About Us
Water Hygiene Solutions Ltd is a well-established water hygiene company operating across the nation. Our expertise lies in the commissioning of new mains pipe work, achieved through a comprehensive process involving swabbing, pressure testing, and chlorination. Our services cover both MDPE (Medium-Density Polyethylene) and DI (Ductile Iron) pipes, regardless of their size or length.
We always meet or exceed the Water Authority TGN 2 specification for adoptable mains and all pressure testing is performed to the WIS 04-01-03 specification with full data-logging performed.
In addition to our expertise in commissioning new mains pipe work, we offer a comprehensive range of water hygiene services. Here are the additional points you requested:
Cold Water Storage Tank (CWST) Cleaning:
Our team specializes in professional water tank cleaning, meticulously removing sediments, impurities, and bacterial buildup from the tank’s interior surfaces.
Regular CWST cleaning is essential to maintain water quality, prevent health risks, and ensure efficient equipment operation.
Legionella Management:
We provide Legionella risk assessments, monitoring, and control services.
Our approach ensures compliance with regulations and minimizes the risk of Legionella growth in water systems.
Tank Cleans:
We clean and disinfect potable (drinking water) tanks, process equipment (such as wash systems and water features), and mains pipework (both new and existing).
Our methods include cutting-edge techniques like silver hydrogen peroxide, chlorine dioxide, and sodium hypochlorite.
These processes eliminate harmful bacteria, viruses, and contaminants, ensuring enhanced water safety and compliance with industry standards.
Microbiology Consultancy:
Our Managing Director holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology, which further enhances our expertise and commitment to maintaining water safety. This teamed with our experienced engineers provides expert advice on microbiological aspects related to water systems.
Whether it’s assessing water quality, identifying potential risks, or recommending preventive measures, we offer tailored consultancy services.

Hygiene Card
PD855486:2015
TGN2/PD855486:2015 refers to a document related to water supply hygiene. Let’s break it down:
TGN2 stands for “Technical Guidance Note 2.” It specifically pertains to the distribution system for water mains and services. The purpose of TGN2 is to guide designers, constructors, and operators of water networks to minimise contamination risks and ensure water quality.
PD855486:2015 is a Publicly Available Specification (PAS) related to water chlorination. It outlines the process of adding a known amount of chlorine into a water system to effectively disinfect it by oxidizing microorganisms present in the system.
Here are some key points from TGN2 regarding the design and installation of water distribution networks:
Contamination Risks: Designers and operators should be vigilant about opportunities for contamination to enter water supplies. They must take precautions to minimize risks. Avoiding stagnation or prolonged contact with specific materials (e.g., cement mortar pipe lining) is crucial.
Network Design: Proper network design can significantly reduce contamination risks. Features like adequate turnover, avoiding crossovers or intermittently used pipes, and providing washout facilities are essential.
Ground Conditions: Assess ground conditions where new mains are laid to identify risks to water quality during installation or from permeation afterward. For instance, metal or barrier pipes may be necessary in brown-field sites with hydrocarbon contamination risks.
Hygiene Practices: Personnel involved in laying new mains and services should hold registration under an approved hygiene scheme and carry valid water hygiene training cards. Pipes and fittings should be transported, stored, and handled carefully to prevent contamination.
Commissioning: Care should be taken to prevent water, subsoil, or other materials from entering a pipeline during construction. Cleaning measures and inspection techniques (e.g., CCTV) should be considered before commissioning larger diameter mains
Hygiene Card
All of our engineers hold EUSR cards, this signifies several positive aspects.
Industry Compliance: Having EUSR-registered engineers ensures compliance with industry standards. You can guarantee that our team adheres to safety protocols and regulations.
Access to Job Sites: EUSR cards grant access to construction sites and utility projects. Our engineers can seamlessly work on-site without delays due to missing credentials.
Skills Validation: Each card represents a validated skillset. You can trust that the engineers and Water Hygiene Solutions Ltd possess the necessary expertise for their roles.
In summary, Water Hygiene Solutions Ltd are a well-prepared, compliant, and skilled workforce, benefiting both your team and the projects you undertake.
At Water Hygiene Solutions Ltd, our commitment extends beyond mere certification. When you choose our services, you receive more than just a certificate. We provide you with a comprehensive report that meticulously captures all the data collected during our site visit. This report includes detailed photographic evidence, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Additionally, you’ll receive a certificate of compliance, affirming that your water hygiene meets the highest standards. Our dedication to thoroughness and quality sets us apart, ensuring your peace of mind.
